The convergence of three mountain streams (Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala) forms the Munnar hill station. This most beloved hill station of Kerala is situated at an altitude of 1500 - 2500 metres above sea level with an average rainfall of 275 cm. The 2695 metre tall Anamudi is the pride of Munnar and is also the highest peak in South India. In ancient times the former British Government in South India used this ethnic hill station as a summer resort. Munnar is one of the most pursued honeymoon destinations in Kerala. The place is embedded with loads of resorts and lodging facilities that carry an expansive range of budgets. The high range contains the most beautiful viewpoints, waterfalls, valleys, rare species of animals & plants, thick forests and site seeing. The abundance of natural beauty in Munnar gave her the name "Kashmir of Southern India". Another major attraction of Munnar is the "Neelakurinji flower" which fills the hills in blue once every twelve years. The next bloom is expected in 2030.
